John A. McLachlan Ph.D.

John A. McLachlan Ph. D. is a distinguished influence and voice in environmental issues around the globe. His extensive experience has made him one of the most renowned researchers in the effects of estrogen on fetal development and the endocrine system. As a professor at the Universities of Tulane and Xavier, he continues to expand the knowledge of future researchers in America. While living in New Orleans he established several programs with different organizations and eventually became the Scientific Director of NIEHS. His specialization in pharmaceuticals has opened a lot of doors in the medical field. His newest field of study is called environmental signaling or endocrine disruption. He has been listed in over 140 journals, edited books, and book chapters. He was awarded the NIH Directors Award in April of 1997 and the “Hero of the Year” award from the Breast Cancer Fund in 2000.
